Explainer on how expiries are initialized on the Zeta DEX
Expiries are initialized relative to the latest expiry that is still active.
The start of trading and the expected expiry time for the next expiry is calculated as the previous expiry + a one period (week) increase in time. At the start of trading greeks and mark prices will update.
Strike generation for the next expiry occurs at the start of trading minus a set threshold.
Before the start of trading for the expiry, users will not be able to submit new orders, but from strike generation mark prices and greeks will be available.
Current State of Zeta Expiries
Currently Zeta has weekly expiries, with the back expiry being generated when the front is 1 day out from expiry.
