This is a guide walking through how to trade futures on the web platform.
NOTE: You can also take an in app tour which will walk you through how to trade by expanding the Help dropdown and clicking "Tour".
Getting Set Up
In the top left of the screen near the Zeta logo you can switch between Options and Futures trading. Once you have selected futures it will be highlighted like below.
In the top left corner of the page you can select and connect your wallet so you can start trading.
The first step is selecting the expiry you would like to trade - this the date at which your future will be settled.
You can then move on to the trade screen. The first thing you should select here is if you would like to buy or sell the future (below I have selected Buy, and as such it is highlighted green).
After this you want to enter in the price you are willing to trade at - note you can click the orderbook to input prices.
Once the price is inputted you can enter the quantity of future contracts you wish to trade.
This will also reveal to you your trade metrics:
Initial Margin: The amount of capital you need to put up to place your trade on the orderbook.
Trade Value: Is the value of the assets you are purchasing, it is = quantity x price.
Maintenance Margin: Is how much capital you need to keep this position open once the trade has been filled.
To finalise your trade simply click the yellow buy/sell button at the bottom!
Once the trade is placed you can manage your open orders and positions from the accounts section. Here you can access account metrics and actions for cancelling orders and closing positions. Refer to points 6 and 7 at the bottom of this page for more information.
